Background: Boom is a PropTech startup offering modern rental financial services (rent payment reporting, tenant screening, etc.) for property managers. As a small team with an innovative product, Boom faced the classic startup challenge: a great solution in need of a scalable sales engine. They had no formal sales process and needed to educate a traditionally conservative real-estate market on a new technology, all with limited resources.

Services Delivered: Tico Ops engaged with Boom at the earliest stage to design and implement their sales operation. We developed a go-to-market sales strategy targeting small to mid-sized property management companies and landlords most likely to adopt BoomPay’s solution. We developed a process for Boom’s pipeline and integrated it with automated outreach cadences, including email sequences and follow-up tasks, to ensure that no lead fell through the cracks. The team crafted sales scripts, copy, and sequences that spoke the property manager’s language. We also implemented lead grading to prioritize outreach to property managers with larger portfolios, and set up analytics & forecasting so the founder could predict revenue and set realistic targets. From landing page lead capture to follow-up text messages, every step of the funnel was streamlined.

Results: In 12 months, BoomPay went from closing 6.67 deals per month to a fully operational sales engine. Some key outcomes included:

  • Faster Deal Cycles: By introducing automated follow-ups and tailored outreach strategies, Boom shortened the average sales cycle (from initial demo to close) by an estimated 30%.

  • Pipeline Growth: We built a qualified pipeline of over 200 property management prospects in the first 3 months. BoomPay signed 10 new property management contracts in one quarter, adding an estimated $500K in potential annual recurring revenue to their pipeline.

  • Team Efficiency: With a lean team (founder + 1 sales rep), BoomPay was able to achieve what a larger team might – outreach volume and CRM organization scaled 3× without additional headcount. The founder could focus on product and fundraising while our process reliably generated and nurtured leads.
